Simply Betty's Bling It On Challenge

Well this week we have a very special challenge for you as it's for a very special girl. Back during our 12 days of Christmas we had a special prize, which was to be a Custom digi image drawn by our very own Betty. A special young crafter named Emmy won! Her digi is now ready, and the DT have all used her image this week for our Bling It On Challenge. So this week, since Emmy LOVES Glitter (and lets be honest, who doesnt?? ) we're challenging you to:
Bling It On

I made a shaker card, I haven't made these in a while and it was fun. They take a little bit of time and I had some extra so I figured why not.

You can kinda see the glitter and hearts in the shaker card, I tryed to get the best pictures I could. I have flowers also on the inside and outside. I colored up Emmy's digi with Copics and added Stickles to her wings. I have lots of purple florishes all over and some cloth butterflies.

I personalized the bottom so Emmy will have a cute little keepsake of her big win. I hope you enjoy this card Emmy it's on it's way to you.
Now for you chance to win this limited digi make a card with any Simply Betty digi and enter it ---HERE---
Thanks for looking.

More Love from The Beary Scrap

Have you had a chance to play in our Beary Sweet Challenge? We have had a lot of really nice entries and would love more. Our challenge is
Friendship or Love
and for the Design Team we added a Heart.
When Kimm got this new Graphic 45 paper in the store it looked very pretty on the computer but in person it's ever more pretty. I can see so much that can be done with this paper so you better not wait and go buy some before I get back online to the store and buy it up, lol.

My cute little bride digi is from Lisa of Precious Piecings and she has it free at the moment but if you like it don't wait cause it won't be free for long. You can get her ---HERE--- . I printed her on X-Press It Paper thats currently sold out at the store but watch for it soon to be back in stock and colored her with Copics and added Stickles to her flowers. My hearts were cut out with Spellbinders and all my paper is from Graphic 45. I hand stitched around the edges and added some pearls. I added some miscellaneous ribbon from my stash and a Mulberry Flower.
Now you only have a few days left to enter our Beary Sweet Challenge and you can enter you card ---HERE---.

Now if you haven't peeked at the store for a bit Kimm now has the German Glitter Glass from Meyers that has been all over blog land and she has it ready to ship. Check it out I have just got mine from Kimm and watch for this very pretty glitter to be on some of my up and coming projects.

Thanks for looking.

I was published in Through The Craft Room Door

I finally can blog post about this. Due to the terms of being published in Through the Craft Room Door I can't post this for two months but my time is up and I can now show off what I had in the magazine.

This was published in the Nov/Dec 2010 issue. I made this with Grunge Paper and two of the flowers are from Tim Holtz's Tattered Florals Die. The top orange flower was made from my own pattern. The orange flower was inked with Distressed Inks and Stickles and the other two were inked with Colorbox Ink. All there flowers were stamped with designs. I added some miscellaneous  floral pics and a gem brad. I sanded my picture frame and added some Glimmer Mist to give it a shimmmer. If you want a copy of my pattern for the top flower you can get it from my orginal blog post ---HERE---.
Thanks for looking.

A 13 Year Old's Special Birthday Wish

Betty must have one of the sweetest 13 year old daughters.

This post is in Betty's own words from her blog:

Money, a trip, a party, or an overnight stay at Disneyland.... Rio came to me and said, "Mom, is it really really my choice what I get for my birthday?" I told her of course! So she says, "Ok, this year mom, I want money, but can I do anything at all with it? I mean anything I want mom?" Again, I said of course. "Okay, I want my birthday money to be donated to the children of St. Jude's hospital so they can have a special day, or whatever the money is needed for. I don't want to have money to just blow when I can help other kids that can't get out of bed, or go outside. That's what I want for my birthday!"

Of course I was already choking on my tears before she finished her sentence! What a marvelous request, selfless and special! I had a special image made for her 13th birthday, and I have not told her about it, or shown it to her. I am asking for a very special request myself in honor of my daughter's selflessness.

The image is now available for $3.00 HERE, I am asking you all to purchase this special stamp and help me bring my daughter special birthday wishes by mailing off a card you make with the image to her... but wait that's not all... all I ask is for the special card to be mailed because the $3.00 made from every purchase will be donated to St. Jude's again in Rio's honor. I am planning on taking her after her birthday to the hospital with the money we raise from this image and her birthday money as requested and giving it all to the hospital!

Her birthday is Feb. 8th, if you all could find it in your hearts to give my little girl that special card my mailing it to her I know it would make her day so special... she is always so grateful of the little things and my hope is to fill that mailbox of ours to the brim with Birthday cards! I plan to gather all cards mailed to her from now until the 8th, and secretly putting them all in the mailbox along with her very favorite chocolates: York Peppermint Patties and Peanut Butter cups! That evening after her birthday dinner I am going to ask her to walk down the street with me to the cluster boxes and have her open the mailbox (I am going to pretend I have not checked the mail all day of course) then BAM! they all pop out at her! Whoohooo! She will be thrilled once she realizes what exactly all those letters are.

So, would you all be willing to help Rio raise a little money for the kids and send off a card? If so here is our mailing address:

Rio c/o Betty Roberts
PO Box 132314
Big Bear CA 92315
USA

and you can purchase the image at simplybettystamps.com under Rio the Birthday Girl digi! She is the first of six new Emos soon to come!

Here is the image: what do you think of it? Pretty cute huh? She's the special birthday diva turing 13!! I will run this image for $3.00 until the 8th of Feb. after that she will be gone for good. So please be aware that she will be a very limited edition digi! She may later make a debut in rubber but I am not making any promises, I will try my best if there is enough interest in her to be made into Rubber. Thank you all for your support! And please please please spread the word about this special fund raiser. Thank you all again!

Thanks for looking and helping Rio with her special Birthday Wish.

Love Bears by Patricia

Friendship or Love?
Well my cute little bears choose Love this week.
I haven't made a layout in a while and I figured it was about time.
My center mat will hold a 5x7 photo.

Bears, Bears and more Bears, these cute bears were made with Acrylic Paper Piecing Patterns from The Beary Scrap Store and the Baby Beary that was given as a special on the last new release. Watch for the Baby Beary coming soon to the shop. They were made with Mulberry Paper and the edges of the Bears were highlighted with Colorbox Ink. I cut out the cute little hearts they are holding with Spellbinders and sprayed them with Glimmer Mist. My very pretty paper is from Echo Park the Be Mine Line. I also punched out my boarder lace with a Martha Stewart Lace Punch. I have Say It In Pearls by Prima and  I added some Berry Red Pearls from Queen and Co.  My rose flower at the top is also from Prima. I used lots of buttons from my stash and some heart shaped hat pins.

Do you not LOVE the Tear Bears!! Different poses for your Beary Scrap Tear Bear Patterns

Do you have some of
Acrylic Tear Bear Patterns.
Here are some idea's for poses and if you were lucky enough to get the free baby bear on the last special, maybe these will help inspire you to play around with your patterns. Now if you didn't get the baby bear with the special you will be able to purchase the baby real soon.

Here is the backside of how I hold the 3 bears together with scraps of mulberry paper that would normally be thrown out. Seeing how most of the bears are shown and not much overlaping it doesnt leave much room for glue.

Now if you don't already have some patterns head on over to
and get some, you will really love making these.
All these are currantly listed on Ebay for sale and soon to be on Etsy once I get them made. Links to my stores are on my side bar.
Thanks for looking.
