I Have A Guest Spot with More Paper Than Shoes for July

Most people know how much I adore Anna of More Paper Than Shoes and her creative talents. By now most people know who she is and the beautiful flowers she makes, if not check her blog out --HERE--.
Well you can image how excited I was when she asked me to be her guest designer for July, I was jumping up and down. So when she sent me my peg board kit for the Ustream Class she added the flowers in there for me. I went looking around Michaels to see what I could make with the flowers and this cute little box jumped out at me. I have made a few shaker cards before and thought that this would make an awesome Shaker Box, I never made one before.

Now for a fun tutorial on making this cut very easy box.

Here is what the box looks like before you start.

First start with removing all the hardware for the box, all latches and hinges. Then paint the box white. You don't have to worry about painting the entire box just what will show. After I painted it white I added some Satin Varnish to protect the paint and add a shine to it.

Then I took each side of the box and measured and cut the paper out to match each side, my paper is from DCWV the Mariposa Stack and inked all the edges of the paper with Vintage Photo Distressed Ink.

After I attached the paper to everywhere but the top I added all the hardware back on the box.

Here is a look at the top of the box before I add the glitter.
I added some glitter from Art Glitter Gala Glitz- Gold and cut a piece of clear acetate to the size of the box and glued it down.

Then I added the top pieces of my paper to cover over the acetate.

Then I added my flowers that Anna sent me and added some Glimmer Mist to them. I picked up some pretty beaded pearls I got from Joann's and added them with the flowers. Now if you read my other post on my peg board I said that the leaves and vines that were sent with the kit I used on another project well this was the project. I thought that they looked really pretty on this box.

Now to get some of these pretty flowers or to learn about the classes that Anna teaches you can get all the information you need ---HERE--- on Anna's blog.
Thanks for looking
