Here is one of my first requested Christmas Cards I was asked to make, the only request was "Make me a Christmas card". I usually like some kind of idea but this one had to come totally from my head.
And I think it came out pretty good.
The stamp is by Chelsea "Winter Girl" from her Girlee Girl line. Link is on the right side bar.
She was colored with Copics I added glitter and then 3D Glaze to all of her so the glitter and snowflakes inside the Shaker card wouldn't take the glitter on her off.
The frame was cut with Spellbinders and layered to make it a shaker card. I used 3M foam tape to make the thickness. Around the frame I glued and added Flowersoft to hide the tape. Inside of the shaker card is chunky glitter and I punched out small snowflakes with a Martha Stewart boarder punch. The small pointsettias are from Flora Doodles. The pretty background paper is from Carol Wilson. The larger pointsettia is just a flower I had and Im not sure what brand. The greens are the branch punch from Martha Stewart.
The inside of the card also has Carol Wilson paper and the tag was made with Spellbinders along with another Flora Doodles pointsettia to match the front. And no card is complete without some bling. The tag was stamped with a clear stamp from Inkadinkado from there Holiday Filigree Collection.
I like to make nice big cards 6 X 7 and it is so hard to find an envelope to fit this size card so I had to make a box to fit it. This also works great so your card dosn't get flatened in a regular envelope. My cards are also nice and thick and the box is perfect to fit it.
I made the box with a box maker by Aleene's I have had this for so long I don't even know if they make them anymore. But Im sure there is something like it out there if not.
I made the box match the card which is a nice added extra to the set.
The pointsettia is from Petaloo and I added ribbon to hold the cover on. I had to come up with an idea to hold it on so on the bottom of the box the ribbon is glued on.
I didn't want to tie it because it's not always easy to make a good bow so I put on velcro disc on the back side of my flower brads I made and I also added extra glue to the disc that were on the box so they won't come off that easy.
And she fits all nice and safe tucked in side her matching box.
